Job Title:                           Teachers/Teacher Assistant    

 

General Definition:            ECLC Teachers and Teacher Assistant work under the supervision of the Master Teacher to provide academic and enrichment activities to children ages 3 months-K.  Excellence in service to all Tribal Members and patrons is expected.

                                            

 

Supervision Received:     Master Teacher/Assistant Director

 

Supervision Exercised:     Teacher may supervise Teacher Assistant      

 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Under the direction of the Master Teacher they will implement and instruct enrichment activities for children and youth ages 3 months-12 years of age.
  • Assists with the coordination of and participates in all program activities.
  • Insures the safety and security of students, staff and property at all times and in the summer session of activities.
  • Deals with discipline issues following acceptable practices under the guidance of the Assistant Director and Master Teacher.
  • Communicates and works harmoniously with diverse families and fellow coworkers.
  • Represent the Tribe in a professional manner at all times, when working with Tribal members, in dealing with outside entities and situations with fellow employees.
  • Greets the public, vendors, and visitors as they enter the Chief Charles Enyart Building
  • Must be able to work with all types of people with a friendly and helpful attitude
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

 

 

 

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

·       Excellent verbal and written communication

·       Organizational skills

·       Detail oriented

·       Multi-Tasking and time management skills

·       Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

·       Excellent customer service

·       Respect for all Tribal Members, Tribal Officials, Supervisors, and Co-Workers

·       Excellent problem solving and conflict resolution

Licenses/Certifications/Other:

  • Must be able to pass a background check
  • Must be able to complete pre-employment drug test with a negative result
  • Current valid driver’s license
