General Definition:            The Surveillance Department is committed to serving the needs of the Eastern Shawnee Tribe through investigation and diligent collection of data pertinent to the operations of it’s casino and properties.  To that end, we strive to maintain and employ the most innovative equipment available to monitor the operations of and activities within our casinos conscientiously; to record the casinos operations and activities thoroughly; and to manage the information responsibly guided by regulatory authorities; demands, company policies to the highest ethical and professional standards in the industry.  Surveillance Agents assist in this mission by performing the following duties.

Supervision Exercised:     None

 

 

Essential Job Functions:

·         Ensures compliance with gaming requirements set by gaming authority

·         Safeguards the assets of the Eastern Shawnee Tribe’s organization

·         Maintain familiarity with current gaming regulations (particularly those pertinent to the operations that take place within the Eastern Shawnee casino(s)and properties, policies and procedures and house rules

·         Identify and report violations of gaming regulations, company policies and house rules

·         Identify other threats, and/or potential threats, to the assets of the Eastern Shawnee Tribe and its Casino (s)

·         Complete daily shift logs, investigation status notice and incident reports as directed

·         Use the afore mentioned report formats to thoroughly document the operations of and activities within the Casino(s)

·         Preserve video coverage/evidence of significant events as directed

·         Restrict access to the Surveillance Room and Surveillance-related information and materials to those designated with access

·         Represent the Tribe and Casinos in a professional manner at all times, when working with customers, in dealing with outside entities and situations with fellow employees

·         Other job duties as needed

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • 3-5 years of Gaming experience or training in the surveillance industry preferred
  • Knowledge and skill in operating and maintaining Surveillance CCTV systems preferred

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

·         Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel spreadsheet software and Microsoft Work Processing software

·         Basic computer skills with high aptitude to learn additional software

·         Excellent oral and written communication skills

·         Highly detail orientated

·         Ability to work hectic, fast-paced environment and handle deadlines and frequent interruptions

·         Able to work independently with minimal instruction

·         Performs tasks efficiently and in a timely manner

·         Ability to work with many different types of people and demonstrates the ability to lead and contribute in a team environment

 

 

Physical Demands and Typical Working Conditions

·         Work is performed in a moderate indoor climate 

·         While performing the duties of this position the employee is regularly required to sit for extended periods of time

·          The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop and lift or move up to 50 pounds.

Licenses/Certifications/Other:

  • Must be able to pass receive/maintain a license or permit from the Eastern Shawnee Tribe Gaming Commission.
  • Must be able to complete pre-employment drug test with a negative result
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license
  • Native American preference is observed.

 

Native American preference policy is as follows:  Legally enrolled Eastern Shawnee Tribal members shall be given preference if the tribal member’s experience, qualifications, training, and all other criteria included in the job posting are equal. Tribal Members or Citizens of other Federally Recognized Tribes shall have second preference following the same criteria, followed by any other applicants. (Resolution # 021011-R-03) Only Certified Degree of Indian Blood cards will be accepted as verification of Native American Heritage for other tribes.  Copy of CDIB card must be included with application.
