Job Title: ECLC Summer Program Teachers & Teacher Assistants
General Definition: ECLC Teachers/Assistant Teachers direct the daily activities of the children during the summer program as assigned by the School Age Coordinator and under the ultimate supervision of the Learning Center Director. The summer program will be held from May 28th-August 14th, 2024, and provides an enriched summer program contributing to the cognitive, social-emotional, physical, language, and communication development of each child participating in the ECLC summer program.

Essential Job Functions:
• Directs the daily activities of children as assigned by the Master Teacher and/or ECLC Director
• Directs children in educational activities providing a nurturing environment contributing to the cognitive, social-emotional, physical, language and communication development of each child
• Supervise children during lunch, naptime, field trips, transition between activities and playground periods.
• Prepares materials and other necessary items for scheduled and planned activities under the direction of the Master Teacher and/or ECLC Director.
• Will be responsible for operating the buses on summer trips and transporting children on filed trips.
• Communicates and works harmoniously with diverse families and coworkers
• expectations of a professional product.
• Performs clerical and cleaning duties as needed or instructed
• Other job duties as needed
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:

Completed the 10th grade and is currently enrolled in a secondary program
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Ability to work with minimal supervision, take initiative, and make independent decisions
• Ability to work under pressure
• Ability to handle multi-functions
• Ability to work proficiently and efficiently in a timely manner
Physical Demands and Typical Working Conditions
• Office environment may occasionally be noisy
• Work is typically performed during the day shift, but hours may occasionally vary based on departmental needs.
Licenses/Certifications/Other:

Must be able to pass an adjudicated background check

Must be able to complete pre-employment drug test with a negative result

Must possess a valid current driver’s license

Must have positive verifiable employment references.
Native American preference policy is as follows: Legally enrolled Eastern Shawnee Tribal members shall be given preference if the tribal member’s experience, qualifications, training, and all other criteria included in the job posting are equal. Tribal Members or Citizens of other Federally Recognized Tribes shall have second preference following the same criteria, followed by any other applicants. (Resolution # 021011-R-03) Only Certified Degree of Indian Blood cards will be accepted as verification of Native American Heritage for other tribes.
