The June issue of the Shooting Star states there are two positions to be filled on the Housing Authority Board. One of the positions was for a non-home owner Housing Authority tribal resident. According to Housing Authority Director LaQuita Williams, “ recent By-Laws were changed by Resolution 052722-R-01 to state ‘At least one of the persons so appointed shall be a resident within a housing project under the jurisdiction of the Authority.’
The reason for this change is that the goal is to have all homebuyers become homeowners. In the event that we only have homeowners the wording was changed to resident.” The current representative is a home owner resident; thus this position is filled.
Consequently only one vacancy exists on the Housing Authority Board.
